  1. Well,  I was trying to tell Warren Davenport the difference between shear and sheer in his last answer, but he doesn't allow e-mail so I had to chase him up here. Usually I click on the person's profile and send them an email so I can help them with their grammar/spelling without everyone seeing it but if they don't allow e-mail I can chase them up to the next question they ask! When a person's answer is full of errors I don't bother, as I feel they aren't really trying.

  2. Don't think that will be necessary.

    This is good enough.

Just throw the ball of question out.

The hitter will know how to strike the ball and make it to the home-run.

    What do you think?

  3. If you go to the user profile of the person with whom you wish to communicate, there may be a link allowing email (if the person wants to receive email).

  4. As stated, those who are open to receiving personal communication have that option allowed in their profile (email, IM, etc).

Since this isn't a chat site, nor is it meant to be,that's likely the only one-on-one communication options that will ever exist here. I get contacted all the time, by people who've seen my answers and want to give their input, or ask my opinion on something else. Many don't allow any direct contact at all (from people on this site) and that should be their right and choice.

  5. You could propose that on the Y!A suggestions forum (upper right corner of each page, click "Forum"). Right now, you're limited to emailing/IMing the person only if they allow it. I doubt if that would change.
