Question:

Is there any way to apply US passport while deployed to Iraq?

OK.... this question was brought up by one of my teammate

He is curretly deployed to Iraq.....

during R&R he wishs to travel to some foreign country besides US, and problem is that the country that he wishs to travel require US passport to enter.

So is there any way to apply US passport, or should I just tell him forget about it......

  1. A US citizen can apply for a passport at the US Embassy in Iraq.


  2. Sure, I just saw something about this in both a spam e-mail my camp put out as well as a recent Stars & Stripes.

    Tell him to go down to the nearest Legal Assistance Office; they'll point him in the right direction.

  3. Yes you can, get your passport form from the post office fill it out. ans send it in along with pics that will fit the passport. you should be able to get them taken at the ID card section on your FOB.

  4. He can apply at the American Consulate, especially since they do NOT want him to be flashing a governmental or official passport about
