Is there any way to call someone from a german number from within the US?

I want to see if the person is ignoring me, or ignoring everyone.

I live in the US and the friend lives in germany...

  1. I'm not sure I understand your question. What exactly do you need if it's not the area code? Do you want to call from the US but have the other person think you're calling from a German number?

    You could buy a German SIM card (e.g. www.fonic.de - I think it's the cheapest around at the moment, but I haven't checked their prices for international calls) and you'd get a German cell phone number with that. You'd still have to dial the (0049) first If you're calling to Germany from another country though.


  2. Yes.  011 is the 'exit' code to call outside the US, and +49 is the country code for Germany.  So to call them, dial 011+49+their number.

  3. Yes.  You need Germany's country code (49), the area code, and the phone number.

    Dial:

    1 - 49 -area code - phone number
