  1. You could use a laplink cable, a USB data transfer cable, you could take the hard drive out of your PC and use an external housing which you plug into your laptop,or possibly the easiest way is you could activate file sharing on the same network and the just copy/paste files when you need them.

  2. Buy yourself a cheap router/switcher, if you don't have one already it makes a great firewall, then turn on file sharing, map the drives and your desktop drive will show up on your laptop like its a normal drive.  Then it is a click and drag operation...http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040..... this link tells you how to do it

  3. There is, if one of the computers has Vista and you have a wireless network. I did it last week between two lap tops.

  4. Sorry, the only way to transfer files is to set up a network between your laptop and your pc. From start menu go to Network & Internet Connections. Set up a small home or office network. Run the wizard and follow instructions on both computers. To transfer files from laptop, click on folder and drag to left side menu "share". On pc go to start, my network places, shared documents. Both computers have to be running to do this. Hope this works for you. Good luck.
