Is there any way to convert a .exe file in order for my mac to execute the file?

  1. No.  If it's an open-source program you can re-compile the program for Mac, but there is no way to "convert" it to run natively on a Mac.


  2. You can use Wine, a reimplementation of the Windows API.  It will allow you to run many Windows applications, but it is still in the beta stages, so don't be surprised if some apps do not work.

    It's generally better to just find a Mac or *nix alternative though...

  3. I'm afraid this is not possible. If the person who wrote the software does not provide an OS X version, your only other choice is to install some sort of virtualization software (VMWare fusion for instance) and then install windows. That's what I do on my macbook, I have VMWare installed and I can run Windows XP if there's some application I HAVE to run that there isn't a native OS X version of.
