  1. The key is not eating.  You are swimming, and burning calories that your body needs to replace.  The key, I would think, is to make up those calories with energy rich, low fat foods, as mentioned above (fruits, vegetables, etc.)

Otherwise--the starving sensation is the calorie deficit you are experiencing.  You can push through it, and probably lose weight fast, but I'd talk to a nutritionist (or read a good book), because that might not be healthy.

(And the not eating before you swim is a myth.  Actually eating a power bar, or protein bar might give you a boost of energy while swimming, and maybe curb the post swimming appetite some?)

  2. You should always wait a little while before you go swimming after you eat, if you've never heard that before. But anyway, you could always try packing something healthy. You could try snacking on carrott sticks, apple slices, a handful of raisins... anything to give you a boost in energy, and still allow you to keep away what calories you just lost. :)

  3. Bring a water bottle to the pool and drink during your workout.

  4. Ingest a moderate amount of the chlorine water...trust me, you won't want to eat for days.
