Question:

Is there any way to delete a lot of songs off an iPod at once?

I just got a new iPod for my birthday, and my sister's getting my old one. So, we're deleting all the songs that she doesn't know off of it. We started checking the ones she didn't know [[on iTunes]], because we thought you could just delete all the checked ones at once. But I don't know how! :D

Is there a way to do that? Or any other way to delete a bunch of songs at once instead of deleting them one at a time?

Thanks!(:

  1. I dunno.

My ex wife took care of my iPod for me as she was the one who gave it to me.  Now that we're no longer together, I just have what's been on it since she moved out.

  2. u can try opening the itunes music folder and delete the songs by album since i believe iTunes organizes ur songs by album

    well for me it is

  3. If she uses a separate computer, as soon as she syncs it with the new computer all the old songs will be wiped off. If you are using the same computer, you will just have to keep checkin' away :)

  4. Very simple. In your iTunes, double click on the iPod icon. Go to tools, folder options and choose to view files. Make sure it is set to "View Files and Folders" or "View Hidden Files & Folders" first, and then use the delete key on the Album or Albums you want.

To make it easier, you will want to sync your iPod back to iTunes first so you can get all the files off the iPod.

Now you can also import songs through iTunes using Consolidate, and get all the songs put in that you wish. It would be a great idea to have your iPod manually update for now (not auto-update) so that you do not lose your songs that you load or save.

And if you really want to get your songs all playing at once, its a great idea to get the new iPod Classic. With it, you can do Cover Flow which will shuffle your songs on auto virtually eliminating that problem. At the flip of a switch its never been easier. Thanks for the great question.
