Is there any way to display a blocked call or find out there number?

I have been receiving mean and violent phone calls. The number is always blocked. Is there any device that can reveal the number so that I can report it to the police.

I have already reported the person who I think it is and all they received is anger management classes. I have suggested to my family that we should change our number but they don't feel like they should have to do such. However, if we are annoyed by this then we should do it.

  1. *77 will block their call from coming in if they have their caller ID blocked. The trace can be done by pressing *57 (after the call).  If it was successful, it will tell you so.  Then call your phone company and have them forward the information to the authorities. You will not have access to this information.  Both of these features are available to you, the *77 one may be an additional charge if it does not work first time around. Call the phone company either way.

  2. you can try *77........but if its that bad better get a callerID manager....!

  3. Depends what country you are in. In Australia with Telstra, you can set up a tracking sort of thing. You need to answer the phone and then once they hang up, you need to leave the line open for 5 mins, and it can be traced. If they get the callers details three times in a row, they can send a letter to their service provider advising they a making nuisance calls, and if they persist, there phone service can be cancelled. That worked for me, once the looser got the letter, the phone calls stopped straight away.

  4. Call your phone company and ask what you can do to set up a trace on a call.  Most companies charge around $10 for every call that you attempt to trace.  Traces do not always work for a variety of reasons, the main one reasons are either the call is not long enough or the trace code is not entered immediately after the call.  If the calls are in any way threatening, call the police again and let them handle it.  Don't make the situation worse by confronting someone that clearly isn't playing with a full deck.
