Is there any way to erase the date from a photo?

if you are using camera before processing images, there may be option to remove when taken, after image is processed to computer, not really you can mask or patch over, or crop/ cut out from image,

just crop it out

You can't "erase" on a photo, but if it's low enough and wouldn't take away anything crucial from the image, you could use the crop tool to crop it out.  That's why I set my camera NOT to show the date on the photos.
