Is there any way to find out if an inmate at telfair state prison has email privledges?

i just found out an old friend of mine is an inmate there and was trying to find a way to contact him via email. anyone know how to help???

  1. Hello Nancy. I will respectfully disagree with the above poster. Inmates in state prisons are NOT allowed internet access nor are they allowed to own, retain or use computers within their cells.

    With the pedophiles, scam artists, bunko artists and the like that have been incarcerated, it would business as usual if they had internet access while inside the wire.

    Best advice would be to call the facility and ask for visitation. Identify the inmate ( you may need his date of birth if the name is relatively common) and they will give you his inmate number. You can then write to him to establish your contact. The format for a letter would be:

    His Name followed by the inmate number

    Telfair State Prison

    Address

    City, State, Zip

  3. He would have to initiate the contact and get your e-mail address approved through the supervisor there first before he could make contact with you.
