There was a family friend murdered in my home town when I was very young and there was a story about it in a True Detective magazine which had my dad in it because he had found her.Is there any way at all to find out the approximate date or year at least, of her death so it would help our search for past issues of the magazine ?

  1. There's a free library reader for many of those articles. If you send me the name of the person who died and an approximate year of death, I'll see if the article's available through the library service.

  2. If you know the cemetery where she was buried, then usually they might have records of all the burials on the web where you can look her up.

  3. Try the two web sites below, both are free to use, one deals with graves and one with newspapers.

    Good luck and good hunting

  4. define "very young"..

the social security death index starts ABOUT 1960ish, so she may be included there.

If by any chance you are not certain of the first name, you can use the advanced search .. with surname and state/ county, it might find an alternate first name.

  5. Is your Dad still living? You could ask him. How old were you when this happened? If you can figure this out then perhaps that will help. Where did it happen. If you can give a few more details perhaps we can help more.
