  1. Basically.. does it work?

    Most of the measures of whether a rechargeable is dying/dead is, does it hold at least 80% of the original charge. You could compare this to a fresh battery used the same way, or just notice that you really don't seem to be getting the same charge as you once did.

    Basically, it is what it is... as it gets older, the charge stored drops, and eventually, you just can't get the battery charged. The 80% point is the rule of thumb on where the capacity probably starts dropping fast.
