I have a westell router with verizon internet. it was good for the first few months or so. i have a hp pavilion laptop and a lot of times i would just lose internet connection. i check my wireless connections and it sees my internet.... i just can't connect to it... I THINK ITS RETARDED THAT I CAN'T CONNECT TO MY OWN INTERNET I'M PAYING FOR! anyways, the only solution i have for this problem is to restart the router. (turn it off for 15 or more seconds and turn it back on.) it is quite annoying... sometimes i have internet access for hours on end.. sometimes its barely an hour before i repeat the process? any one find a way to fix this ridiculous problem?

  1. Try shutting down your computer, turn off or uplug your router, turn off or unplug your modem. Let everything set for a couple of minutes then turn it all back on in reverse order. Computer until it's up, modem until all lights except inernet, router until all correct lights are on. See if that doesn't help.

  2. try a new router or wireless card for your laptop. you can get a usb or express card for your laptop. as for routers, there are a ton of options you could get a fairly good setup, depending on what you use the internet for, for under $100
