Question:

Is there any way to fix stereo speakers that my cats chewed through the wires?

It doesn't look like the back will come off of the speakers. They plug into the stereo but are permanently attached through a small hole in each speaker. The backs of the speakers have rabbit and dado style insets. Maybe I could drill a hole or something in the back to attach some new wires? The wires are too thin and small to patch.

  1. If there is even an inch or so poking out of the speakers, you can splice a new wire onto the piece that is sticking out.  You can also cut off the connector on the other end (leaving a few inches) and splice the other end of the wire to that.  Just twist the two wires to the other two keeping them separate from each other.  Use electrical tape to cover the spliced wires.

  2. aluminum foil

  3. Since you feel you can't splice the wires, you may find that you can remove the speaker grill and remove the speaker with screws. If not, you may want to purchase a new set. Speakers like the ones your referring to are inexpensive.
