Question:

Is there any way to get Firefox 3 to run on Vista?

I used the last version of MF on my laptop --a Compaq Presario C500 running Windows Vista basic home edition-- for a while and it didn't really work all that wonderfully, with the freezing ("not responding") and generally being stupid, so I saw that there was a new version and thought that it might be improved from the last version. I downloaded and installed it with no trouble, but now I can't use Firefox at all-- as soon as I open it, the CPU usage shoots through the roof, the program freezes, any other programs that are open freeze, and the whole computer grinds to a halt. I can't even get it closed in less than a half-hour, and usually I end up shutting down and starting over.

This is really frustrating, since I'm stuck using this worthless Internet Explorer until I can get MF fixed. What's the problem here? Is there any way to fix what's wrong? Would Netscape or something be less trouble in thh long run?
