Is there any way to get a FREE VIN # check, without paying any money what so ever?

Every site I go to, that says free VIN # check, isn't free. It is so frustrating. Two years ago, it used to be really free. So if anyone knows of a site, that is truely free, please contact me.

I might try this, now that I'm thinking of it:

Go to a dealer and act like you want to buy a car. Get them expecting you to buy one. When they're busy fiddling with the price and financing ask them to check your vin#, as if you want to trade in your car. This is kind-of shady, but car salesmen take advantage of you any way they can.

What do you want to know about your vin#? Ask a cop to run your vin# at the police station. They love to know if you have unpaid tickets.

This has spent a bunch of time. Nothing is ever free.
