Question:

Is there any way to get a proforessor to change an F?

I moved away and didn't take finals, had an Incomplete which then turned into an F. This was 2 years ago, would the professor even be able to change it if I were to make up the work? Would repeating the class remove it?

  1. A little late? Why didn't you take care of this sooner?  When you get an Incomplete, you are supposed to talk to the professor and see what he or she expects.  There is always a deadline for removing Incompletes or they automatically turn to a F.  Therefore, I doubt he/she will do anything. Repeating the class may, you may want to read your college catalogue as opposed to asking us.

  2. No.  In most cases, the only way a professor can change a grade is if they made a calculation error in the first place.  And even if that were the case, grades are usually final within a few weeks of the grades being assigned.  I've never heard of anyone being able to change a grade two years later.

As for repeating the class, it won't remove the F from your transcript, but the new grade would replace the F in the calculation of your GPA, so it will improve your GPA, but not remove the grade from the transcript.
