Question:

Is there any way to get out of a bid on Ebay?

I bid a bit more than I did, getting carried away, and then realized I don't really want to bit on this item that much. Is there any way I can get out of winning and having to pay without waiting for someone to outbid me?

I need help quick, the time left for the bid to end is only a few more hours.

Thanks!

  1. Look under HELP type in " rescinding a bid".

You will need the number of the item in order to fill out the form.

If for some reason it doesn't let you email the buyer, apologize and tell them you don't have the money and please re-list. (this is only if your not out bid) most Sellers can work it out with you.

  2. use a throw away address and bid it up on a fresh one shot ebay account, if you win and dont pay they will eventuly ban you or ruin you rep if you have a good score on ebay.

  3. I would just email the seller and ask them to "CANCEL your BID".  They as the seller has a right to cancel a bid, especially if the bidder has a lot of negative feedbacks or similar.  They should not be mad about this, because the last thing they want to deal with is the process of getting a final value fee back, etc...

    Thanks for reading!

  4. Work it out with the seller. Be honest! Most of them, are willing to discuss it with you. Perhaps you can offer to reimburse him the listing fee so it doesn't cost him anything to relist it.

  5. Nope. The only way you could get out of it is if it was really a mistake. Like you bid 100 when you meant to bid 10.
