Is there any way to get someone to the united states without marrying them?

My friend Parmesh wants to come to the U.S. for a better opportunity, but I will not marry him, because he is just my friend, Is there any other way to do this? He really needs to get outta there...

Yes, they are other ways for him to come here. Student Visa, Work Visa, Family Petition, etc.

All of these takes time, except for family petition excluding siblings (brother or sister takes forever). I will recommend for your friend Parmesh to do some research and if he has some extraordinary abilities he should be able to come with a work visa. Check the USCIS website for information or google Extraordinary Abilities.

Be aware that if your visa application is rejected, then you will find it extremely difficult to enter the USA as a tourist, ie: under the visa waiver program.

In January they are starting an electronic registration, where all tourists must be approved electronically before they will be allowed to travel to the USA.    However, if you have been denied a visa, you are not elligible for this registration.

My girlfriend just got rejected for a B2 non-immigrant visa, so now unless she can re-apply and prove that her circumstances have changed, her chances of getting into the country even as a tourist are virtually nil.  Despite the fact that she came over and back 5 times in the last year.

So be warned...........  And the embassy decision is final - no disputing it...

You best option is F-1 visa.

F-1 Visa -  This is the student visa.  He needs to register with a school that sponsors for student visa. (No annual cap as of yet, because the tuition means foreign currency input into US economy)

H-1 Visa - This is the work visa is very hard to get because of the annual max. limit.  You can try and may get lucky.

DV Lottery - Like the name says, it is lottery.  You can try and may get lucky.

Family Petition - I-130 - It will take almost forever to get the immigration visa because the preference is given to spouses and parents of US citizens first.

The only other way for your friend to live and work legally in US besides getting married to a US citizen or legal resident is if he gets sponsored by an employer or family member such as parent or sibling.  Other than that he can get a tourist visa, student visa or business visa to visit US temporarily (anywhere from 3 months to few years) but that would not allow him to legally work, just study and/or travel thru US.
