Is there any way to get spanish subtitles on english channels?

I know it's a long shot anyway, but i was also wondering how exactly to get the SAP option, i have an LG plasma TV and am not sure how to get to it? Thanks in advance

  2. SAP does not actually mean Spanish subtitles. It actually means Spanish voice-over of English programming (SAP stands for Second Audio Program). That being said...

    Did you check the menu on your TV options?  Assuming SAP is available on the channels you want to watch (BTW - SAP is not available on everything) you would need to have the SAP  selected from the menu in order to hear the Spanish audio.  IF (and this a big IF) Spanish subtitles are available then you would need to have the Spanish subtitle option selected from the menu on the TV.  Generally speaking, the Premium Pay channels like HBO, Showtime, etc give you these options but most Free TV (ABC, NBC, CBS, etc) do not because it costs them money to create these subtitles and then feed them to the viewer.
