  1. There is no way to beat house games. People who think they can beat blackjack by card counting or roulette by clocking the wheel are delusional. There is no system to be a long term winner at any house game.

If you want to make money gambling you need to develop your skills with respect to non-house games such as poker and sports wagering.

  2. There are no good strategies for blackjack and roulette because the odds are always against you. There are strategies for poker and sportsbetting because there its more skill.

  3. Dr Henry has it right and I'm afraid that Sandynlilly has the wrong information regarding the house edge on games.

The best odds in the house are to be found on the craps table pass line with full odds, next is one of the many forms of blackjack with liberal Vegas rules and then baccarat 1.06% if playing the bank. If you are counting you have to do it very well in order to be backed off a game. I know some very good counters ane of them develops games for casinos as a living. You might have noticed that my freind works to earn an income and doesn't gamble for a living.

  4. If you learn to count cards and play in short spurts so that they aren't suspicious of you, you can definitely improve your odds. I have a friend who is brilliant at counting cards, but he would not play for long periods. He would win a little money, and move on to play somewhere else. But he would always end up ahead whenever he played.

Of course I don't like to play card games with him. He always wins. I can't count cards at all so it's always been fascinating to me to watch other people do it.

  5. Ah - there are multiple strategies to INCREASE your odds but unless you are EXTREMELY talented, the odds will still always be against you.  For instance, in black jack, there is the basic strategy for which you can find the little odds cards that tell you exactly how to play.  This will increase your odds but on top of that, you can also change your betting strategy to further increase your odds.

For instance, if you are playing on a $25 table, then you should double your bet after every hand you lose so when you finally win a hand, you will win back ALL the money you lost plus an additional $25 - example:

bet 25, lose; bet 50, lose; bet 100,  lose; bet 200, lose; bet 400, lose: bet 800, win  - Now add that up, you lost five hands in a row for a total of $775 but then you won the 6th hand for $800 which puts you at a net gain of $25.  Then you start over again with a minimum bet of $25.

I know you are thinking that it is impossible to lose if you use this strategy but you will soon find out that this is why there are maximum bets on tables.  The key is to find the place that allows you the most room between your minimum bet and your max bet.  Just FYI - the Golden Nugget in Vegas has a $5 min/ $2500 max blackjack table, that is the best live game i've seen because you only have to win once in 10 hands in order to make money.  But be careful - if you lose 10 hands in a row, you will love $5000!!!

Also - on bodoglife.com, they offer a $1 min/ $500 max blackjack table which gives you odds equivalent to the golden nugget but I am just weary of online gambling.

    Good Luck!!!

  6. The easiest way to "improve" your odds would be to play a game that has better odds to begin with.

If played correctly with PERFECT playing strategy blackjack has the best odds in the casino, however if you do not apply perfect playing strategy, the hosue advantage grows enormously and becomes the worst game in the casino, this is why casinos still offer the game even though card counters can readily beat it.  You can typically find playing strategy cards for blackjack in gift shops, or you can practice and learn at hitorstand.net

After blackjack, baccarat then craps are games with good odds, the slot machines shoudl be avoided at all costs (there is a reason the casinos dedicate 95% of their floor space to them, and it is becasue they make tremendous profits)

Casinos will often give out promotional coupons that when applie to certain games give the player an enormous edge over the casino temporarily, using these coupons will greatly increase your odds if you can frequently get ahold of them.

The lower your bets are, the less money you will lose in the long term if you are playing at a disadvantage, this will not in any way effect the rate at which you win or lose, but it will greatly effect how much you lose.

There are progressive betting systems where you increase your bet after a win or loss repeadedly.  These systems will slgihtly shift the odds of a "net win" or "net loss" for a particular playing session, however in the sum of all wins and losses your losses will be much higher due to the larger bets you will be making, they shoudlbe avoided at all costs.

Comp hustling is a way of playing that makes sure the casino gives you more free stuff than you lose in dollar value for your play, and in a way that will improve your odds.

In my experience, poker and blackjack are the only two games that you can apply strategy to and gain an edge such that you will be expecting to win.

Im am not familier with poker playing strategy, but one thing i am aware of is that the numbers of professional poker players are getting larger and since they play against eachother it is becoming increasingly difficult to make large profits.

Blackjack is beatable by counting cards which is a very intricate process that i could not go into full detail about.  You are welcome to ask me any questions about it and i woudl be happy to answer them.  You can find information about card coutnign here: http://www.qfit.com/blackjack.htm

Despite what others claim, card counting is 100% possible and 100% feasable, i challenge anybody that doubts it to tell me how i can play 100,000+ hands of blackjack in a casino and have tens of thousands of dollars to show for it while the casino still holds the edge.

  7. sure there is.....dont gamble, that way you have 100% chance of keeping your money....cant get better odds than those
