I had a situation a few months back where one of my mothers neighbors where threatening her and harassing her, now my mother is a recovering cancer patient and we recently lost my father so I get very sensitive when someone is harassing my family anyway the girl kept coming by harrassing and threatening my mother she also came to the house starting trouble with my mother we called our local police several times (also other neighbors have called the police on the same people) but nothing was ever done they have threatened to kill me and my mother and my children we were just getting fed up so one day the girl brought 3 guys to my mothers house to fight me and me and the girl wound up fighting then I was jumped by her cousins but yet they all press charges on me when we went to court I had all the evidence that I needed but the judge sided with her because I was older than her which in a way I can understand but then to I dont think that was fair because she started this whole situation plus the people that jumped me press trespassing charges on me and assualt charges the judge found me not guilty for one of the assualt charges and not guilty for the trespassing because he said he couldnt determine what really happened but he found me guilty for assualt for the girl who came to my mothers home and stated the whole fight how can I get this situation cleared Ive never been in trouble before and it was very imbarrassing because Im not a violent person but my mothers life was being threatened and the local police would not help us what can I do?

  1. You can try and get it expunged. You have to go in front of a judge.(probably the same one) And you better have a d**n good reason for the judge, like trying to get a job or something. I would also advise having a lawyer.

  2. if it is important for you to clear your record, i would ask around in your area to see if anyone you know has been successful in getting their record cleared.  if so, then find out who their lawyer was and consult them... if nobody you know has been successful or even tried, try to find a criminal attorney with a good reputation and consult them...

for the future (i hope you don't have to deal with anything like this again), it is better to pay for a lawyer up front to get the best possible outcome during the trial rather than try to change what has already happened.

on a side note, i am praying for your mother's recovery and for your family as she does recover.
