Is there any way to improve the Xbox 360 Headset?

Ive got the wired headset for my 360, I have a big head so to speak :) so the headset doesn't pick my speech up unless I'm basically shouting.

Is there any way anyone knows how to improve the headset to be more sensitive to noise?

I'm not going to buy the wireless headset because that's even further away from the mouth..

The MS headsets for the 360 are very poor quality - even the wireless one!

If you have some spare cash (around £40 UK) - I would suggest getting a Turtle Beach Ear Force X1 - they are very accommodating for the larger head - and all AUDIO - in-game chat and game audio can be routed into the 'cans'.

They are great for late night use, and help your gameplay - as you can hear and pinpoint where the enemy are (especially in Call of Duty 4)

you may have a defective headset.

I have a very large dome.  I wear an 7 7/8 fitted hat when i have short hair. yikes.  I have no problems with the headset.

You can bend the mouthpeice closer to your face.  I hope that isnt the answer to your question because that is pretty ovious. imo.
