Is there any way to lessen or cover up stretch marks?

These are not from being pregnant, so they were never red. They are like a silvery white color. People have told me that once they are that color it's unlikely to make them less visible.....Want to know if anyone has found any cremes or other remedies....

Also, any way to temporarily cover them up? I have a nice body otherwise but can't wear a bikini because of them.

  1. I will start off with a few cheap, easy solutions. Try using a skin brush while you are showering will increase circulation which will help the skin to heal and help reduce stretch marks. There are also many creams you can find at your local pharmacy or grocery store that will moisturize your stretch marks, and make them more flexible. Examples of these are cocoa butter and creams or oils containing vitamin E. If none of the creams or oils are effective, you can also talk to your doctor about getting a prescription cream to reduce stretch marks.

Your diet can also help reduce your stretch marks. Eating food high in zinc and silica will help with your collagen formation. Also, eating foods with essential fatty acids, such as certain vegetables and fish oils, help form cell walls. Eating foods high in vitamins A, C, and E will also help.

  2. I have stretch marks too and it is from playing sports in high school and when I graduated I lost a lot of weight so all of a sudden poof!  I have stretch marks.  Nice little present.  The only way I can conceal them is to apply self tanner on and it seems to minimize their appearance.  I have heard they don't tan but for some reason when I am tan they look so much better.  I tried all sorts of stuff and nothing I could find really worked so my best advice is to realize even if you have them, who cares so does 85% of women!  I know they suck but hopefully someone in here will provide us with a miracle cure...  Cocoa butter is the only thing I have heard and I am still wondering if it really works...

  3. Try Dermablend. It is a flesh colored coverup for the body that is waterproof. It won't make them invisible but it does a pretty good job of making them a lot less noticeable.
