Is there any way to make the lens for rimless frames thinner?

Can you get any kind of high index for drill mounted rimless frames?

Hi,

I have a high prescription (-5.5) and have some rimless glasses. You can get high density lenses which reduce the thickness to about a third and make it much less noticable -but they are expensive.  Mine were over 300quid from D&A, but I thought I was worth it!
