Is there any way to prevent Shrinky~Dinks from curling up in the oven?

I spent forever on a happy birthday sign shrinky~dink and it curled up in the oven. when i took it out, i pressed on it with a spactula and it helped a little bit and not its wavey. is there any way to prevent Shrinky~Dinks from curling up in the oven?
