Is there any way to prevent damage to lawn from slip and slide water slide?

Every time I put it down, it seems like plugs of grass are ripped up and the grass looks terrible. Can I put something down under the slip and slide to protect the grass?

What I have done in the past is move it constantly.. Don't always put the slide down in the same place...

My brother and I used to have one when we were kids and at first our lawn was shot to He!!... but my Dad started moving it around and that made a difference..
