Is there any way to put a password on my pen drive?

its a PNY 2GB pen drive. i don't know much more than that. I know a simple solution would be to put a password on my PC but that , in my current situation, is not enough. any advice on how to protect the data on it would be appreciated [beyond " don't let anyone else get it"].

also i have to access the data on different PCs, so i cant use oftware that needs to be intalled on every PC you use the pen drive on

An easy option would be to store everything on your pen drive inside a folder. Then simply password protect that folder. http://www.fspro.net/folder-lock-box/ should be able to help you to do this.
