I have a can of spray paint that feels like it still has half the paint in it, but it ran out of aerosol (or whatever that's called). Is there any way to (safely) get the rest of the paint out?

  1. no there isnt

  2. No there isn't any way to do that

  3. No they put in the right amount if it is shock well and used upright.  there is no safeway.  Best you can do to use the paint is cut open the can and use a small brush.

  4. No more propellant, then pierce a hole in the can and drain into a small container, use a brush to paint the rest.

    Good Luck,  ;-)

  5. Sounds like the paint nozzle/valve did not seal well and allowed all the pressue out of the can.  One way I get all the paint out is to put the can in a pan of water that has been brought to a boil and then removed from the stove. DO NOT BOIL THE CAN.....Just bring some water in a pan,,water about half as deep as the can is tall,,to a boil,,,remove the pan from the stove,,,put the can of paint in the hot water for 3 or 4 minutes..Simple science,,heat causes expansion,,,if there is any aerosol left in the can the heat will cause it to expand and build a little pressue in the can,,,if the can is completely empty of aerosol this will do no good and then you just need to buy a new can..

When I use spray cans I keep a pot of hot water going and always have at least 2 cans of the same color. I heat both cans then use one and leave the other in the hot water,,,after a number of sprays I swap cans and put the used one in the hot water and use the one that was in the pot.  I keep doing this until the job is done or the paint can is empty. Alternating the cans and keeping them hot keep the pressure up inside the cans and I have cut open a empty can just to see if it used all the paint in the can and it did. When I didn't do this (heat) I found there was still paint left in the can when the factory pressure ran out...
