  1. all you have to do is use a/v cables and put them from your dvr to the dvd recorder they would go into the out put of the dvr and a input on a dvd recorder then you would have to put the dvd recorder on the input like l1 in 1

  2. Absolutely.

Call NBC and ask for the CIA TIVO department.

Then have them 1040 the old CD that ABC gave CBS, ask for a RGB connector, plug that into the back of your HDTV and turn on the equalizer of the COAX, standing about 4 feet away.

If that doesn't work, some programs are copy protected, so try transferring your DVR to you PC HD and just burn a DVD directly from your computer.

An alternative would be to get a cheap video editor ( they have good ones free on downloads.com..or you can get a free 30 day trial of a better one and just do all you can get done in 30 days ), and copy it into that program from your DVR to your PC. That program should over ride any copy protection and treat it like a vid you downloaded to your PC directly from your own video cam.....you are outsmarting very smart people by making your DVD burner think its just another program being transferred directly to it from your computer, and it's legal to do, which it is if you only use it for your own private enjoyment.  Try to sell it on a streetcorner and..well don't even CONSIDER that..I'm sure you didn't have that in mind, DID you ???

  3. Okay.  He makes it so much more complicated than it is.  It is actually very simple.  There is no copyright protection on tv shows regardless of what others may tell you.  I use my dvd recorder to frequently save programs from my Tivo.  You will take the AV/Component (whatever type of cables you use) that run from the dvr to the tv and unplug them from the tv.  Now plug them into the inputs on the dvd recorder.  Now you'll need one more set of cables to run from the dvd recorder out to the tv in and you are done.

It works especially good for pay per view movies.  I can record movies to dvd and have a hard copy of a new release for only $3.99 (DirecTV ppv cost).

It's very simple.  Basically the same as a VCR except DVD's instead of tapes.
