Is there any way to repair a sun damaged car other than new paint?

I recently got a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. Overall, it's in great condition considering its age. The only thing I would like to fix is the sun damaged spots on the exterior. There are a few spots where the clear coat has peeled and one other spot where the area has turned to a white-ish gray color. The car looks great, other than those few spots. Thanks!

  1. Once the clear coat starts peeling you will need a complete paint job.. You can get it touched up but it will just peel some where else.

  2. you best bet is find a very good detailing center that does wet sanding to remove a layer of damaged paint.it will last a little while, but you still need to wash and wax it to keep wax on the car.

  3. A quality body shop should be able to touch it up rather than repainting the whole car.

  4. you can get an entire paint job at 1day paint or maaco for about 300 bucks no amount of touch up will ever fix the sun damage you need to re-paint the entire vehicle.

  5. After that.. make sure you wax it every threee months to keep it from happening!
