Is there any way to shrink a T-shirt?

My dad bought me a really cool t-shirt, but he bought a men's large, when a men's medium is more than big enough. But I really love the shirt and would like to wear it, but it needs to be shrunk. I tried washing it in hot water and drying it on high heat, but it didn't really do the job. So does anyone else know any other ways to shrink a t-shirt? Thanks a bunch!

If it was preshrunk material all the extra has already been taken out.  Can you wear the Tshirt over another shirt for extra bulk?

well i had a t shirt that was to big for me and so my mom just took it and soaked it in cold cold water till it shrivels a little and then squeeze it out and iron it then you can crumple it up and wash and dry it but you should driy it like 3 times.

ya put it in really cold water for like 2 hours

If the shirt is 100% cotton hot water and the dryer should do the trick. It might take several times. If it's polyester it's not going to shrink.
