Is there any way to stop Post-Nasal Drip?

Can somebody please help me? I have really bad post-nasal drip, more like post-nasal waterfall... Since it's back to school and all, I don't want to get up in the middle of a lecture to spit that mucus out, or better yet swallow it, then having trouble swallowing it all the way. It is very annoying, I have to stop in the middle of a sentence and spit it out, everybody at school thinks it's "gross" but what can I do about it? I also have to spit/swallow it before I take every bite! Is there any way that can relieve it? Thank you for reading this and thank you for all of your answers.

  1. I have the same problem and it drives me insane.  Try a decongestant like Mucinex-D and also a Saline Nasal Spray.  This will help to make things run a bit more smoothly so it doesn't clog up and leave the phlegm on the back of your throat.

  2. you need combination decongestan and safe or minimal side effect...consult your doctor. for pain relief , swollen and fever..take acetaminopen, if you have the symptoms more than 3 days....maybe you need anti biotic.

  3. I mix salt and water and put it in a glass bottle with an eye dropper. I Use the saline in my nose twice daily and it really helps to clear my nose. Benedryl caps help too.
