Is there any way to transform data from USB to wirless.?

If i have a printer with a USB connection interface is there any form of USB dongle that i can put on it to turn it into regular wirless internet that i can access with a router.

  1. There are Print servers made with USB interfaces that can be set up on a wireless network.  The set up can be frustrating if you are not familiar with IP addressing as the print job will need to be sent to an IP address to come out on the printer.  It is not hard, just involved.  Linksys make a unit that is around $50.  Ihave two of them running so 4 computers can use 2 different printers.


  2. A USB 'dongle', like the USB wireless keys you get for laptops, will not work. The printer is not a 'USB host', it's a 'USB client', so it cannot drive other USB client peripherals. What you can do however is get a wireless router with an integrated print server or a 'wireless print server' that's purpose built to handle printers and hook that up. An example for such a device would be this one:

    Make sure that your future print server supports your printer though (some models may be troublesome).
