Is there any way to unlock a seat belt that has not been in an accident?

I have a 2003 corolla has never been in an accident but one of the rear seatbelts is locked. My daughter rides on her booster seat and I am not really sure what happen but I have not been able to unlock it. If someone can please advise.

  1. Either have the dealership look at it for you because many seat-belts have a very long warranty and you can ask them before you take it in.

    Or you can just go to your local fire department and have them look at it for you, they do this free of charge, good luck.


  2. Take the seat out and unbolt the old belt and replace it with new one. Do you want your daughter to be depending on a seat belt that might not be 100%?

  3. If you can't figure out how to do it yourself, drive it by the dealership and see if they can advise you how to do it. Alot of dealership mechanics or salesmen will be happy to just do it for you if there is a special trick and may not charge you a cent.
