Is there any way to watch tonight's Packers 49ers Preseason game tonight in New York?

I am a huge packers fan but I live in New York and they dont broadcast the game on local tv. Is there any website where I can watch the game on for free? Also I know that it says that the game is only shown on local tv, but is direct tv going to show it to so maybe I can go to a bar to watch it like I usually do during the regular season?

Yes, you might be able to watch it free online.

Volunteers who have tv tuners in their PCs stream games for your viewing pleasure free. In pre-season, they often have 100% coverage of the games, but they don't worry about it if they don't. (I've yet to see them miss a game I wanted to see.)

Coverage can change a lot before a game starts or if there is a weather problem at the streamers' location. Keep refreshing the FIRST POST of this week's thread, after you read the thread:

Read the thread carefully and then read all the FAQs. For some volunteer streams, you'll need to download viewing software. The first post in this thread will change frequently over the next few hours. Keep refreshing it for news of who's streaming which game. (It isn't showing anyone signed to stream it yet, but it is still very early...be patient)

There is also a 'schedule' section elsewhere on the site with streams showing up near game time. The thread is more important. If there are any problems with the stream once you get it, check the thread. Once I have a game streaming, I keep the thread open on the last page and read during commercials. Often streamers are looking for feedback, etc. They may decide to switch a stream to a new channel for better bitrates, etc.

Remember, this is all-volunteer. They will help you if you PM them with setting up any software you need (if a stream is in justin.tv, it has its own online viewer). DON'T ASK THEM TO STREAM A SPECIAL GAME FOR YOU!

Once you stream, make a donation to insure you get more coverage throughout the season, even if it is a $1. They appreciate people who show thanks in some way and it's the least you can do.

PS Also, new this year, NFL-NBC will stream 17 live Sunday Night games for free.
