  1. If your horse is safe enough to lunge while you are riding it - ask your trainer or someone with lunging experience to lunge the horse with you on it. Drop your reigns to the buckle - no need to use them if your being lunged heh - and close your eyes. Then ask your horse to trot - and start posting on what you think is the right diagonal. The person on the ground should be able to tell you if you are or not. Practice this - and eventually you'll get a "feel" of what is right and what is wrong. I hope this helped :)

  2. I tried all those but the only thing that helped me was to feel which way my hip was being pulled. If you're on the right diagonal, your hip will be pulled toward the wall when you rise.

  3. start on the correct diagnal and close your eyes feel what the correct diagnal feels like then move on and post on the wrong one practice this everyday so you can tell the two apart going both directions. when you post to the right it feels more wobbly and unstable then when going left on the correct diagnal. Also try sitting the trot till you feel the outside hindleg pushing you foward then rise.

  4. have someone watch you and they can tell you if you are hitting them or not.  you could wrap the legs in different colors for each diagonal to make it easier for someone to tell if they don't really understand.  after a while you can just feel it

  5. you will eventually learn to feel it. When you go into a trot stay sitting for a couple of strides then glance down and start rising to the correct diagonal. You will learn to feel it during the sitting phase and you will then be able to sit a couple of strides and pick up the correct diagonal without glancing down but it does take time to learn to feel it.

  6. feel it.

    here is an exercise

sit down two up one on the wrong diagnol and sitdown two and up on the right diagnol.

by doing this you will feel the right and wrong diagnols.

  7. what i would do is start feeling it. i used to look down a lot when i started then my trainer told me this exercise. you start posting and feel your correct diagonal sit your trot for a few steps and think of horses legs moving and as u think the sholder is moving foward u sit up this exercise has helped me a lot
