You cannot get mono by yourself, there is always another factor in you getting it. It is very rare, but still possible, to get it from somebody coughing. Small saliva particles can get airborne. For this to happen you literally have to be inhaling someone's cough though. I wouldn't be worried unless you are feeling very tired and your throat feels like it is on fire all the time.
