  1. Paper Towel Rolls

  2. UMMM..... she/he might chew on it but you can use a cardboard Toilet Paper or Paper towel roll.

  3. YES! Well, most household items that are safe and fun are also chewable...but paper towel tubes and toilet paper tubes along with any cardboard including boxes, are a fun way to make a house...but if your talking in term of tubes for them to climb...well...thats a bit tougher. Im not sure if there is a way to make the loops or turns easily out of paper tubes, but there might be. Also look into plumbing tubes. Now i know this may sound weird but the white plumbing tubes would be good for climbing...there aren't see through or anything, but all you'll have to do is put holes in them, with a drill, so your gerbils can breathe...now this might be trickier and more expensive then the idea's said above, but hey...it might just work! Though it may not be the best climbing material since the inside is a bit slick... Hope I helped!!

P.S. Twigs, branches, and wood work great as well!! =)

  4. You can take large pvc pipe or short and join them together. I never done this but I have heard ppl on my rat forum say it works really well. And I doubt its that expensive.

  5. get- toilet paper rolls

cans with the sharp edges sanded off

cups (with the bottom cut out)

yogurt containers (with the bottom cut out)

water bottles (with the sharp edges smoothered with tape and the bottom cut off)

    - and create tunnels for your hamster.
