  1. Most Irish out here that I know call themselves British. Just look for any British ex pat website.

We live in Spain. The only thing we used an ex pat website for was a good English speaking lawyer. The one we got was brilliant.

If you are looking for ex Brits to help you through the early stages of settling in, try finding if the Royal British Legion is in your area. You will find Brits and Irish there to help you.

  2. I can almost guarantee you'll find such a website about *English* expats. Dunno about Irish expats though...

  3. I don't know about web-sites, but I do know there are plenty of clubs for ex-pats in Spain, especially on the Costa del Sol.  Among them is an Irish Association of Spain, which meets on the 17th of each month & there is Irish dancing every Friday.  Both of these take place in Arroyo de la Miel, which is part of Benalmadena, at the Plaza Mezquita.  In this area there are also several Irish bars.  For fuller information about all the clubs just type in "Sur in English", which is the biggest free newspaper on the Costa Del Sol.  Then click on  Classifieds, then Clubs and you'll find all there is to know.  If, of course, you are moving to another part of Spain you will need to do the same exercise in their local paper e.g. Costa Blanca News.   Good luck.

  4. Look at the websites of Spanish newspapers like Costa Blanca News (also del Sol and Alemeria) and you will find lots of information about ex-pats.  I have a property near Torrevieja and there are hundreds of Irish there.  Good luck.
