Go to Department of Corrections for your specific state, like I am in florida so it is florida department of corrections. If you want to look even further look in the state the person is originally from as well.

If there is a conviction, yes.  If you have the person's full name, or even a last name and first initial, most of the state DOC web sites have inmate locators.  These sites also list everyone who was ever locked up too, but you may need to alter the search.

Hi there.

After browsing this site for a while it seems that most people want to have the background checks done for free and that disturbs me a little bit. Let me ask you; Why do you want to do a background check? I do not think you should do a background check on someone just for fun and if you are serious enough to do the check - then be serious enough to get up-to-date and thorough  information. The free registries are almost without exception never updated regularly and they are often very old.

If you are just looking for information regarding ONE record (public court records i.e) from ONE county: No problem. That can be done for free. However, that is rarely enough.

You can do a free preliminary search through more than 15 records in one search at the SmartBack... site below. It is highly recommended and has helped me a lot.

There is however a fee associated for the full records.

Yes you can visit the court cases on line in your state for free.

I don't know where you live but, type in court cases and your state.
