Is there any word(s) for a person who is poor in understanding questions?

Don't get me wrong. These people are smart, they may contribute brilliant answers & solutions.

It is just that whenever we ask a question, he/she might not be able to 'digest'/ understand the question immediately. Most of the time the person needs more time & clarification to understand a verbal question.

    word would probably be "thick"

    doesnt mean they're dumb, it just takes awhile to get through to them

Is there a language gap ?  If I were just learning English and saw the word - digest - I'd think of my tummy first . . .I usually show a link to a synonym dictionary or one on slang words that may help them . . Be as clear as you can in asking those questions. . .I notice you are a top contributor in Finance . . .if those questions are in that category, it may be hard for you to even simplify them . . .All you can do is pray for patience and give them time.  They will learn.
