It was an Amsterdam vessel most known for her cargo of wood planks, packaged in small van shaped containers she delivered to the Queen for her custom deck to be built. She was captained by Hendrick van der Decken.

Yes, I love the story and pirrates the movie. But the legend itself is very interesting, and the history of how it was told from generation from generation.

I love studying legends.

Of course--it's got the classic elements of defiance and an awful fate for showing such hubris.

In the opera, I believe, the curse can be broken if the captain can find the true love of a good woman, but that requires him to go ashore once every hundred years or so (I'll admit to being a little sketchy on the details).

Another thing I find quite interesting is how many times this "ghost ship" has been spotted by reliable sources--and in many different places!

Seeing as how I'm metal as h**l, and love ancient history/mythology, I'm sure I'd be pretty interested. Btw, I love viking history. So I <3 your name haha.
