  1. Well it's not complicated if you know your way around stuff.  The best is to get your moving done by an international mover, and they take care of all the custom duties, permits, etc., so you only get on your plane and fly to Panama.

Get a competent attorney that can handle your visas in an orderly fashion.  You will need to have your papers in order to benefit from certain tax breaks if you apply to visas that grant them, so you need that in place before moving your stuff here.

Things take a bit longer in Latin America than in the US, so if you're not a patient person, or not tolerant to a more laid back way of life, then you should consider twice about moving.  If you can handle this then you're OK.  I know a lot of expats that simply can't handle it, and they're back in the US.

Panama as a country is great.  You can choose a city or you can choose beaches, or mountains, islands, you name it.  Come and take a look for yourself.  Don't be afraid, it's very safe (of course you have to pay attention to what you're doing or where you're going).

  2. I wish I was there right now.I will go back there permanently when I retire.

  3. I'm attorney in Panama City, Panama, recently arrived from Manila Philippines, if you are American there are a lot of ways to legalize your permanent residence here. As you may know Americans don't need tourism visa to enter in Panama only they need assistance if they want permanent residence or to buy plots.
