Is there anyone here from Trinidad and Tobago knows if a Foreigner can Purchase Land from there and how?

See i am originally from Liberia and would like to invest in Trinidad and Tobago.Planning on buying a property and starting a business.But would like to have some more input from someone who is from there and not just look things up google or of the internet.Please would like common sense answers only.Thanks

  1. yes it can be done ........my advice to you is if you wish to purchase land in Trinidad you should contact a good conveyancing lawyer in Trinidad or you can use your local Attorney and have them contact a Trinidadian Attorney (that would cost you quite alot though).......two reputable Trinidadian lawyers you may contact are :

    they both deal with property law............or perhaps you can take a vacation and visit our lovely islands and also conduct some enquiries while you are here........ just a reminder do not pay any money to anyone without first having seen the property, having a proper title search conducted and a proper contract done and reviewed (our laws will be different to yours and if you are conducting business transactions here then T&T law will be the effective law)........

    oh and one more thing .........ensure you have independent legal representation from the seller ......
