  1. I am not at all impressed by that video.  For some reason, about half of it is a reenactment, yet still filmed in black and white (perhaps to try to trick you into thinking it's real?).  All of the things in that video could have very, very easily been faked.  Finally, they said her the source of her power and ability was electrostatic energy, which makes sense after seeing her move the matchsticks and such.  That isn't telekinetics.  You can go move things right now using electrostatics (ever rubbed a balloon to your head and stuck to the ceiling?).  You aren't using your mind to do it, so it is not telekinesis.

  2. Hi Olive,

Nina Kulagina is well known to skeptics since she is often trotted out as evidence of telekinesis. However, there is no reason to think that she wasn't just one of many amateur magicians doing typical amateurish tricks. She isn't doing anything that magicians don't normally do, and what's more, she's doing it under very loose conditions. No one is near her in any of the videos, and she typically took 3 hours alone to prepare for a show. In contrast, today's "close-up" magicians do far more impressive levitation tricks literally inches away from spectators.

I have a blog entry on Kulagina below. Nobody here or anywhere has yet demonstrated that they have telekinetic or psychic powers, dubious statistical treatments notwithstanding.

I'm not saying that telekinesis is absolutely impossible. I can't logically back up a claim like that. But so far, nothing we know of neurology or physics (even QM despite the popular parapsychological books out there) predict that a human mind can apply a force to an object at a distance.

  3. I still don't believe it.  An old, grainy black and white movie produced by the KGB?  "Home movies" produced by some of the best propaganda masters of the 20th century?  Come off it - use a little rational thought to evaluate the film, and you have to realize that the film was probably faked.

The state magician James Randi has had a standing offer to pay one million dollars to anybody who can demonstrate psychic powers in the lab.  Not one person has claimed a dime.  Most won't even try, for fear of being shown up as frauds or hustlers.

Edit:   You're right - I can't prove it's not possible.  But I don't need to.  If this person claims it's possible and that they can do it, it's up to them to prove it.  And do so in the open, any where, any time, in the lab, over and over and over and over again.  Claiming psychic powers is such a remarkable claim that it needs to be shown overwhelmingly true.  The Wright brothers first flew in 1903, yet 5 and 10 years later, people didn't believe it.  So-called psychics should be viewed in the same way - until they can show overwhelming proof of their "talents", I think that they should be viewed as charlatans, fakes, and hustlers.

  4. telekinesis is the hardest power to develop dude. srry but unless ur ike brainiak no telekinesis, at least so far...

  5. It's genetic, you're born with it, or not at all.

Don't believe anything that James Randi says on the subject. The first person to "win" his contest will find themselves in a CIA lab helping to make the next generation of super soldiers, whether they like it or not. Whose honestly going to voluntarily expose themselves to that risk.

We've all read the comic books about Cadmus and The League of Humanity and so on, they might be fiction, but they're the kind of thing that would be waiting for anybody who ever showed up with any real abilities.

  6. Hello

There are no psychic powers, there are natural psychic abilities.

We all have them, stronger in some than others, but there all the same in us all.
