I understand Canada is a good, morally superior, humanitarian, civilized country, yadda yadda yadda, and the people are polite and all that, but is there a Canadian in any of the provinces who has the backbone to say yes, the cannibal/decapitator should not be allowed to live on this green Earth?

  1. No - he should be extradited.

  2. Yes he along with Paul Bernardo, Karla Homolka and other murderers should be executed for one reason alone. It is the only guarantee that these monsters will never kill again.

But the fabulously rich Canada taxes its people to death so that it can keep providing great treatment and care for these murderers. The ordinary taxpayer will have a tough time paying his/her heating bill this winter (some will freeze to death) while these slimeballs will be toasty warm at taxpayer expense.

  3. As a Canadian I support the death penalty.  However to suggest Canada has no backbone, we look to our friends to the south who also have many states that do not support capital punishment.

We also need to address the problem of the police and the miscarriages of justice where individuals who have been convicted of murder have turned up innocent.

In a very clear cut instance such as this Li guy, he should be executed, but our laws would need changing.

It becomes a very slippery slope, of when to execute and when not to.  You really need to have absolute certainty-beyond a reasonable doubt to execute.

  4. Of course he should be executed. Canadians have no backbone.  There should be a new slogan for Canada "Come murder us, we don't care!"
