Is there anyone on Cancun right now? What's the weather like? I don't like to rely on weather.com.?

I am going to Cancun next Wed. the 22. for 7 days. I'm curious to know what the weather is like now. My husband is worried about hurricanes and too much rain.

Highs in the mid to upper eighties.  At this time of year expect a one to two hour shower in the afternoon and then clearing.  No hurricanes on the horizon, but that could change at any time.

Keep tracking the storm till Sunday, you may have a clearer view then on how things are going to be on Wednesday. i think if the airline does not cancel the flight  for Wednesday and the storm already crossed Cancun and hopefully damage is not as bad, you should fly in.

For wednesday its suppose to be heading to Texas. Cancun should be clear. Stay on track with your plans.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but I would reschedule.  We have a 40% chance of Hurricane Dean hitting us as a category 4.  It is scheduled to hit (if it does not change direction) Tuesday at 2:00 am.

As of today (Saturday), they are now predicting the worst (a category 5).  I would stay in close contact with your travel agency to asses the damage (but don't rely completely on them, as they want your money).  I know of a great site of expats living in Cancun, and their message board may be the best way to asses the real damage.  www.cancunassist.com  When Wilma hit 2 years ago (category 5) people were without electricity and water for up to 10 days...not my idea of a vacation.  Whatever you choose, be smart in the sense that if there is a lot of destruction, there will be looting (as in any disaster), don't be a target!  Best wishes!
