what make/modle/year was it?

how difficault/expensive was it?

how long ago did you do it?

is it still running?

have you had any problems with it?

if so what?

how much did it cost to fix?

is it expensive hard to maintain?

are there grages that will work on them?

how does the whole inspection thing work out with the car? does the registration/licencing cost more?

would you reccomend doing this to an older car?

Not too difficult, some parts were hard to find, overall cost was below $500

    1.5 years

Yes (I hope so, sold it)

In the cold yes, because I was starting it on B99

$0 to fix, just changed some stuff around

Not hard to maintain at all, just keep up on your oil and oil/fuel/air filter changes like any other car

Yes, but most mechanics are weary to touch such an "unconventional" setup

The car was old enough to be exempt from any kind of state or DMV inspection, but I believe it would have passed if it had been required to. Not much was different really.

Yes. Old cars respond much better to WVO (waste vegetable oil) than new cars, because they are devoid of stupid computers, catalytic converters and other overly complicated things.

  2. On the TV series "Mythbusters"..They took

used vegetable oil from a restaurant and

put in in a "diesel engine" of a Mercedes.

The had to filter it to get rid of large food

    scraps in the mixture.

It ran okay, however gas mileage(Or vegetable oil

mileage was a bit less than regular Diesel fuel).

Now they did this with a diesel engine. To run

a regular car engine, you would have to have

    the engine modified.

As for cost....Depends on the type of engine.

Other costs like maintaining it, grages, etc.

Vegetable oil for auto engines is still quite new and

there has not been a detailed complete study on

    this matter.
