    In that case, you are a fraud. There is no such thing as a "Master of steam and motor vessels, 150 gross tons."

    It's either 100 tons or 200 tons.

    In answer to Tom, this guy could well be legit. Licenses under 200 tons can be issued as 25 tons, 50 tons, 100 tons, 150 tons and 200 tons, depending on the tonnage of the boats he got his qualifying sea-time in. The link below is the part of 46CFR that explains it all. My own initial license was as a 50 ton Master Inland, and it raised a LOT of eyebrows with prospective employers.

    For the record, though, most employers are going to consider any license under 500 tons to be a boat captain.
